Founded in 1987, Portimar has deep knowledge in all regions where it operates, coupled with the true local experience characteristic of a destination specialist.
1987
In 1987, a Portuguese-German incoming agency named Portimar is born. Since then, the company has been asserting itself as one of the leading DMC in Portugal.
1990
Portimar commemorates the opening of its Lisbon office. Excellence in service has always been Portimar’s motto and the increase in the incoming operation led to the inauguration of this new branch.
1991
Portimar inaugurates its Porto branch and goes on to offer full coverage of mainland Portugal.
1992
A big step forward for the growth of the company. The expansion of the operation and the reception of tourists in Madeira dictated the opening a branch office in Funchal.
1999
Portimar moves into a new headquarters, in Portimão.
2013
Foundation of the Turitravel brand, exclusively dedicated to Travel Agents, operating in the distribution of a global portfolio of travel services.
2014
Portimar initiates its online product distribution.
2017
Portimar extends its operation into Spain by opening offices in Malaga. Portimar Spain marks the internationalization of the company.
