Day 2 – Ourém, Fátima, Batalha. Dinner at Quinta da Alcaidaria-Mór.

Day 3 – Departure from Ourém to Trancoso. On the way, we recommend a visit to Coimbra, the city that holds the oldest university in the country.

Accommodation at Sampaio e Mello Manor, a beautiful manor house dating back to the early 18th century.

Day 4 – Visit to Trancoso, one of Portugal’s ’12 Historical Villages’.

Head towards Mêda, where you will find medieval castles, ancient churches, noble houses, Roman settlements, and unparalleled natural treasures.

Just a few minutes away you will find the historic village of Marialva, where the streets, lined with unchanging houses, lead to a citadel enclosed by walls on whose ruins it is easy to lose track of time.

Return and dinner at Sampaio and Melo Manor.

Day 5 – Trancoso is about 195km away from Guimarães.

Accommodation at Casa do Ribeiro. A 17th-century mansion, it belongs to the same family since its construction and is located in São Cristóvão do Selho, a village 6 km away from Guimarães. The mansion was built in the 17th century by the ancestors of the current owners.

This charming manor house is surrounded by peaceful groves where guests can spend a quiet day, with several springs and a river nearby.

Day 6 – Discover the history of the city of Guimarães, considered the birthplace of Portugal, and find out how this long history is reflected in numerous monuments and iconic buildings across the city.

Dinner at Casa do Ribeiro.

Day 7 – Just a few kilometres away lies Braga, a city that combines history and culture and is considered as Portugal’s religious centre, holding the oldest cathedral in the country.

Return to Casa do Ribeiro.

Day 8 – Departure.
